Another year - another wonderful celebration! The Diwali program at the local Y keeps getting better and better. The program for Diwali 2013 is scheduled for November 1, Friday.
In the previous years, better visibility was an often repeated suggestion for improvement. This year, thanks to a wonderful volunteer - there will be a stage for performers! The committee is also experimenting with sound this year. Lets see how the acoustics hold in the huge gym with a 1000+ people.
The event includes a cultural show extravaganza, a fashion show, arts and crafts for children and adults, an open dance floor with popular Bollywood numbers and ofcourse Indian food from the popular local restaurants. The Y also offers special Zumba trial lessons and other activities. As usual I will be sponsoring the Rangoli competition, enter and win some awesome prizes!

Cultural performance and awards ceremony 6:30-8
Bollywood and traditional open dancing 8-9
A shuttle donated by Krapf Bus will ferry people from the Downingtown East High School parking lot to the Y and back to their cars at the end of the evening.
